Brian and I meet privately 3 times a week for strength training, swimming and subsequent cardio sessions which often last more than 2 1/2 hours. Since April, Brian has entered and finished 3 sprint and 2 olympic distance triathlons. He has his sights set on at least 3 more triathlons this season, including a ½ Ironman, then the Hotter N' Hell 100 and then White Rock Marathon. Beware: "The Strong Arm" is getting stronger!
As David Whitehurst sped towards age 40 something told him that
he was anxious to be able to share some of his athleticism with
his teenage kids. Whether it was skiing with the family or
baseball and tennis with the kids, his 6-6 frame was not quite
as fit and agile as it once was as a Baylor Bear O-lineman.
Thanks to some urging from one of his neighbors (Van) whom I
also train, almost two years ago David signed up with me at The Studio.
After more than 200 workouts, thousands of ball slams, yards of
hand walking, and miles of running nowhere on the treadmill and
turbo ramp, David has increased his fitness by leaps and bounds.
He has strengthened his knees, core and upper-body so much so
that he has been able to reverse some 20 plus year nagging injuries.
Last year for the first time since college he was able to ski all
day and keep up with the kids. He is one of my few clients who
always relishes crazier and harder exercises.
